his Hemerocallis or Daylily oil painting was derived from a photo taken by and given to me by my friend Chris Petersen. She hybridizes Daylilies and is active in The American Hemerocallis Society on Long Island, NY.
After having drawn and composed this piece in charcoal I transferred the image to this prepared hardboard for painting. The color here is supplied by using watercolor colored pencils as an underpainting.
