When
I worked on the background of this Amaryllis, I used a masking
fluid on the area where the flower and leaves would be. I wet
the paper using a hake brush and then added pigment. Once dry
(almost) I turned the paper 180 degrees and did the same thing
using a different selection of pigments. While still wet I used
a sea salt grinder to scatter irregularly sized flecks of salt
on the surface which causes the pigment to almost pucker. When
dry I rubbed off the salt and removed the resist.
At
this point I painted the flower and leaves.
